How is my order shipped?

All products are shipped in discrete, non-branded envelopes. All orders are shipped as express parcels, and are traceable with track & trace codes.

How long until my order is delivered?

Orders are almost always shipped on the same day, or the next working day. In the Netherlands, shipments are generally delivered the first day after dispatch.

The actual time until delivery to other countries varies between countries, but generally lies between 2-7 days.

In some cases and to some countries, shipments can take longer, up to 3 weeks.

You can track your shipment through a supplied Track & Trace code so you can check on the shipping process at any time.

Can other people see what the contents of the package is?

No. The shipping envelop does not have any recognizable branding, logo’s or urls. In this way, if someone else takes delivery of your package for you, they can not see what you have ordered.

What if I’m not home when my order is being delivered?
If no one is present to take delivery of the shipment, the courier either tries to deliver it to a neighbor or close by address, or re-tries the next day (you will receive a notice in your mailbox).
Depending on the destination country, after the second try the shipment is either available for pickup from a parcel point, or is returned to us. So we ask you kindly to do try and take delivery at the second delivery attempt.

Can I safely take DCI in combination with other supplements?

D-Chirol-Inositol can safely be taken together with other supplements. It’s not known to interact with any other supplements or substances.

DCI is a substance which naturally occurs in your body, and it is also produced by your body. It is a so called secondary messenger that ensures that insuline is properly recognized by the body. DCI is soluble in water, therefore any access DCI will be excremented through urine.

Does DCI influence the reliability of a birth control pill?
No, DCI does not influence the workings and effectiveness of birth control pills. It’s save to take DCI and birth control at the same time.
Birth control pills do conceal PCOS related complaints, so it might be harder to rightfully asses what the effects of DCI are.
What is the correct dosage for DCI?

Current scientific research has established the effectiveness of DCI with a dose of 600 mg per 60 KG of body weight per day. This comes down to the following advised dosage:

If you weigh less than 60 kg: 1 capsule per day
If you weigh between 60 – 120 kg: 2 capsules per day
If you weigh more than 120 kg: 3 capsules per day

It is best to take DCI directly after waking up, before breakfast. In this way, you ensure that the substance has time to enter the bloodstream and do it’s work, before the first ‘sugar’ enters the body.

When taking several capsules, it’s best to spread those over the day.

When taking 2 capsules: 1 before breakfast and 1 before dinner
When taking 3 capsules: 1 before breakfast, 1 before lunch and 1 before dinner.

Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Have you forgotten to take a dose, just continue taking DCI at the regular next moment (so  you’re effectively skipping a dose).

Can I take too much DCI?

DCI is soluble in water and any surplus is excreted through urine. Do stick to the suggested dosage.

Can I safely use DCI when I’m trying to get pregnant while receiving medical fertility treatment?

DCI is a substance which occurs naturally in your body, and is also produced by your body. It is a so called secondary messenger that ensures that insuline is properly recognized by the body.

DCI is soluble in water, therefore any access DCI will be excremented through urine.

Do consult with your doctor before taking DCI.

What is the difference between D-Chiro-Inositol (DCI) and regular (myo) inositol?

Both Myo-Inositol (which is usually called just Inositol) as D-Chiro-Inositol (DCI) belong to the vitamine B family. DCI is a secondary messenger that helps the body to react to insuline normally.

Myo-Inositol is abundantly present in and very easily absorbed from several foods. DCI only naturally occurs in very small quantities in food, and the required quantities for women suffering from PCOS can not be obtained in this way.

The body can make D-Chiro-Inositol from Myo-Inositol, but the process is long, contains several steps and is difficult, and not working effectively in women with PCOS (see diagram below).

In practice, it’s the difficult and ineffective process shown above that poses the problem for women suffering from PCOS.

What is the difference between D-Chiro-Inositol (DCI) and Metformin?

Metformin lowers blood glucose levels by means of foreign substances. These substances form a challenge when processed by the liver. As this organ plays a crucial role in maintaining normal hormonal levels, this obviously forms a problem.

DCI is a natural substance known to the body that supports insuline sensitivity. As DCI always normally occurs in the body, it has no side effects, which unfortunately is definitely not the case with Metformin.

Can I safely use DCI and Clomid together?

Clomid is used to induce an ovulation. D-Chiro-Inositol can safely be used alongside Clomid. N-acetyl-cysteine, a substance that like DCI increases insulin sensitivity, has been shown to improve the effectiveness of Clomid.

As DCI also increases insulin sensitivity, it can positively contribute to a fertility treatment.

Does taking DCI or any of the other supplements make sense if I do not have a healthy general lifestyle?

To support and accelerate the effect of the different supplements, D-Chiro-Inositol included, it is advised to also make more health conscious decisions.

If you take these supplements and you stick to an unhealthy way of living (not eating healthy, smoking, consuming large amounts of alcohol, insufficient sleep) the (noticeable) effects of the supplements will be less.

Can I suffer from side effects when using DCI?

DCI is a natural subtance, that occurs in food stuff and is also derived from a natural source: carob pods

When taking DCI you are merely supplementing what is already in your body. Like many vitamins and minerals, DCI is water-soluble. Therefore when you would take more than your body needs, the excess is excremented via urine. There are no known side effects of DCI.

Can’t I just get DCI from the food I eat?

DCI is present in small amounts in some foods like buckwheat, chickpeas, soy lecithine, pumpkin and pumpkin seeds. The amount of DCI present in the supplement and that which is needed for DCI to be effective, is much larger than the amounts present in foods. Practically speaking it’s impossible to get the needed amounts of DCI through food and eating.

Why doesn’t my General Practioner or doctor know about DCI?

It is very well possible that your GP or doctor is not familiar with a natural supplement like D-Chirol-Inositol. Generally, doctors are very well trained in and knowledgable about all kinds of pharmaceuticals. How unlikely it may seem, in all the years of studying to become a doctor, they received extreme little training  on natural health, the healing qualities of some foods and nutrition in general.

Because DCI is a natural occurring substance, it can’t be patented. Therefore, the pharmaceutical industry is not interested in researching, marketing and promoting D-Chiro-Inositol, as it won’t bring in enough money to recoup their investment.

That’s why pharmaceuticals do not promote natural products like DCI to General Practitioners and other doctors, something that definitely does happen with ‘regular’ medicine. And therefore, very often doctors do not know of the existence and advantages of a supplement like DCI.

Which supplements can I take besides DCI?

Tri Sense is the most used product to supplement DCI. It contains several substances to help with high blood sugar and insulin resistance, as well as manganese. The manganese enables a way more effective absorption of DCI which increases it’s effectiveness.

Elke dag Mama (Every Day Mama) is a multivitamin that has been specially formulated for women that are trying to become pregnant, who are pregnant or who are lactating.

Elke Dag Mama (Every Day Mama) contains the most important micronutrients in the correct proportions according to the latest scientific insights. This supplement only contains easily absorbable compounds.

Why is DCI expensive?

DCI only occurs in a limited number of sources. It cannot be easily extracted from a multitude of plants like myo-inositol.

Our DCI is made from pinitol (a different inositol) by extracting it from carob, and then converting the pinitol to D-Chiro-Inostol. This is a complicated process that only a couple of companies in the world are capable of doing on scale.

Are there any fillers or exipients in DCI?

No. Every capsule only contains 600 mg of pure DCI, No fillers, additives, binders or exipients.

Questions on Tri Sense

Why is Tri Sense so often used as a complementary supplement to DCI?
Tri Sense contains concentrated green tea extract. Don’t I get too much caffeine that way?
Tri Sense contains cinamon extract. Isn’t that potentially harmful?
Why is Tri Sense so often used as a complementary supplement to DCI?

Tri Sense consists of 5 substances which help to control blood sugar levels, and is a very effective supplement by itself. But one of the ingredients is manganese, which actually helps the body to absorb DCI more efficiently (almost 50% more DCI is absorbed). This greatly helps to make DCI even more effective.

Tri Sense contains concentrated green tea extract. Don’t I get too much caffeine that way?

Tri Sense contains 4 milligram of caffeine per capsule. For comparison, a cup of green tea contains 24-45 milligram caffeine and a cup of coffee between 100-200 milligram of caffeine. So Tri Sense actually contains very little caffeine.

Tri Sense contains cinamon extract. Isn’t that potentially harmful?

Cinnamon contains coumarine which can be harmful when taken in high amounts.  That’s why in Tri Sense, Daarom wordt er in dit supplement gebruik gemaakt van kaneelextract waarbij coumarine is verwijderd (Cinnulin PF).

At the moment, I’m not pregnant yet. Should I be taking Elke Dag Mama (Every Day Mama)?

This multivitamin is specifically formulated for women who would like to get pregnant, women who are pregnant, or women who are lactating. So it’s fine (well actually it’s wise…) to start taking this supplement from the moment you would like to get pregnant.

Elke Dag Mama (Every Day Mama) contains essential micro nutrients in the correct dosage, following up to date scientific findings. The capsules can be easily swallowed and contain minerals and vitamins in optimal absorbable form.

Should I take a separate folic acid supplement when taking Elke Dag Mama (Every Day Mama)?

No, Elke Dag Mama (Every Day Mama) contains a superior form of folic acid: (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF),

Nee, in Elke Dag Mama wordt gebruik gemaakt van een superieure vorm van foliumzuur: (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolaat (5-MTHF) bound to glucosamine salt (Quatrefolic®).

That is a huge mouth full, but it comes down to being a stable form of folate, which is the biologically active form of folic acid. Folate is much better absorbed than regular folic acid, and as it is added in a proficient dose, there is no need to take a separate folic acid supplement.

What is the recommended daily dose for Omega-3?

In 10 capsules Testa Omega-3 zit in totaal 4.5 gram omega.

Questions on Omega-3
