Leaving the world better. More and more people are pursuing this ideal and are eating plant-based foods. Meat, dairy and eggs are being omitted from the diet by more and more people: they are becoming vegan. Going vegan is a great move at a time when the earth is warming up at breakneck speed and animal suffering is still an issue.

But taking care of the world and others starts with yourself. With a well-balanced diet, enough exercise and sufficient intake of vitamins, you ensure that you can handle the world, with all its hectic pace! Also with a vegetarian or vegan diet.

Vegan vitamins are not obvious

It may surprise you, but most vitamin supplements are not vegan. The capsules are often made of gelatin and the gloss on the capsules may consist of shellac (derived from lice). Supplements may also contain lactose or certain vitamins have an animal source, such as omega-3. This supplement often consists of fish oil. It is therefore not that easy to get vegan vitamins as a vegan, which is why we at Ovabalance are happy to help you on your way, because all supplements we offer are 100% vegan!

Why vegan supplements?

As we mentioned earlier, a plant-based diet is better for the environment and animals. Unfortunately, animal suffering now speaks for itself. Many critters are treated very badly in that factory farming and keeping livestock also has many bad influences on the environment.

Ruminants produce methane when they digest food. Methane and nitrous oxide are released from stored manure. Both nitrous oxide and methane are much stronger greenhouse gases than CO2 and therefore cause global warming. In addition, a lot of animal feed consists of soy. To meet the demand for soy, football fields of forests are cut down in South America.

Not good! Time to eat more vega(s) and also opt for vegan supplements if you want to supplement your diet with extra nutrients.

Which vegan supplements?

For a number of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, it is difficult to get enough of them through your diet, especially when you eat vegan. You should especially keep an eye on the nutrients that are normally found in animal sources and supplement them with vegan supplements if necessary. Think of vitamin vegan B12 , vegan vitamin D3 , iron and vegan mega 3 .
